Pompeii – A Preserved City

In 79 AD, a natural disaster struck the Roman Empire: Mount Vesuvius erupted, burying its surroundings under a thick layer of ash. It was only centuries later that the ruins of the cities were rediscovered and excavated.

For my personal project, I drew four of the victims based on the plaster casts made in Pompeii and imagined what these four witnesses might have been doing before the volcanic eruption.
